FAIRTRADE CERTIFICATION

All our teas are certified organic. But for the vast majority of consumers of organic products, organic certification is no longer enough. Just like Les Thés de la Pagode®, "bio-citizens" are convinced that respect for the earth and the environment is intrinsically linked to respect for local producers, and are increasingly committed to a fair and "eco-responsible" approach.

Fairtrade, Agriculture biologique

Pursuing our desire to offer organic teas that respect the industry, the environment and our consumers, we have decided to go even further by developing a range of Fair Trade teas. Several years of work with our small tea producers in Asia have enabled us to offer a range of Fair Trade teas, certified by our partner Max Havelaar.

FairtradeMax Havelaar, a vital partner

We have worked to certify some of our Fairtrade teas by calling on one of the most committed operators: Max Havelaar. Today, among the billion people who suffer from hunger in the world, ¾ are agricultural workers. Often isolated at the end of the production chain, they lack information and find it difficult to defend their rights. Max Havelaar puts manufacturers in touch with small producers who wish to commit to this approach.

The commitments of Fair Trade

Fair Trade applies 4 fundamental rules
1

Respect for workers' rights: :
Decent wages and freedom of membership to trade unions.

2

Purchase price guarantee
In order to allow producers to make a decent living for their families.

3

Democracy and non-discrimination:
Involvement in decision-making by each member of the producer organisation.

4

Strengthening organisations:
Investment in economic, social and environmental projects.
