Earl Grey tea is a great classic. The delicate flavour of bergamot and a blend of lime and bitter orange citrus fruits give this tea its remarkable flavour.
The origin of Earl Grey tea is steeped in legend. The most widely recounted story explains how this tea owes its name to Comte Grey (Earl Grey in English). A Chinese servant working for the Grey family came up with the idea of adding a slice of bergamot to enhance the flavour of the tea before serving it to the Grey Family. That's how Earl Grey got its name! Charles Grey went on to become Prime Minister of Britain and made this recipe famous right across the country and, before long, across the world. The success story continues to this day.
